Teamwork Grand Council 2023

Brief

Teamwork were holding their Grand Council 2023 with over 300 Teamworkers from around the world arriving to Cork’s iconic Páirc Uí Chaoimh stadium. We were tasked by Teamwork with coming up with an engaging team building experience that could connect all the participants and help them get to know each other as part of the first day of their conference. Teamwork would like include some Teamwork content.

They also wanted a Back to School Sports Day event later in the same week also.

Solution

On day 1, our specialist events team decided a Pyramid Power event would be a great way for attendees to connect and get to know each other. In this activity, teams must come together to complete a task that requires careful planning and coordination. Participants must work with one another to ensure that all of the small pyramids fit together perfectly, creating a single, towering structure. Through this process, teams will learn the importance of accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication in achieving their goals.

To accommodate the large number of participants, we divided them into six groups, with each group assigned to build a single large pyramid. By the end of the event, there were six remarkable pyramids standing tall. To commemorate their accomplishment and reflect Teamwork's values, each pyramid was adorned with a Teamwork sticker highlighting the following principles:

3. Value 3 - Customers First
4. Value 4 - Excellence
5. Value 5 - Driven
6. Value 6 - Kindness

Following this engaging team building experience, we hosted a vibrant and spirited 'Back to School Sports Day' at the end of the week. This event aimed to capture the nostalgic joy of school sports days while infusing it with a competitive twist. We curated a diverse range of challenges that catered to varying abilities and skills, rewarding bonus points not just for physical strength, but also for participation, skill, and teamwork. By adopting this inclusive approach, we ensured that every participant could actively contribute to and enjoy this team building event.

Results

Over the course of the week, a total of 300 people enthusiastically participated in both events. The Pyramid Power activity allowed teams to have a great time while developing connections and promoting engagement. The Back to School Sports Day, characterized by its high energy atmosphere, provided teams with immense enjoyment and fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants.
